Jordan Wike, son of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, presented his American passport at the FCT High Court in Abuja on Wednesday. The suit involves a $2.1 million land allocation dispute. The claimants, Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil & Gas Nigeria Limited, allege that Wike received $2.1 million in cash from them last year to facilitate the acquisition of land in two choice areas of Abuja.
The case dates to October 2025. The claimants say they met Jordan in London and developed a rapport. They say he agreed to facilitate the acquisition of 30 hectares at Katampe and 30 hectares at Guzape for a fee of $2.1 million. They allege that $2 million was for his father, the Minister, and $100,000 for himself. The claimants say they delivered the cash on 26 September 2025. They allege Jordan went incommunicado after receiving the money. They demanded a refund on 31 October 2025 but got no response.
Justice Sylvanus Oriji ordered Wike to produce his passport following a dispute over his whereabouts on 25 October 2025. Wike told the court he was not in Nigeria on that date. He said he travelled with his American passport. The claimants’ lawyer, Hamza Dantani, applied for the passport to be produced. The defence did not oppose the application.
Wike denied receiving money from the claimants. He adopted his statement on oath and maintained his innocence during cross-examination. The court also granted an application for Wike to write his full name and signature on plain paper five times each. The case is rooted in a joint venture agreement dated 17 October 2025 for the construction of 24 units of 6-bedroom duplexes on 1.7 hectares at Guzape and 1.5 hectares at Katampe. The claimants were to contribute $4.2 million.
