Celebrity chef Hilda Baci instructed legal representatives to address alleged defamatory statements made by musician Seyi Vibez. In a now-deleted post, Seyi Vibez claimed that Hilda Baci’s food almost killed him after her partner, the CEO of Dapper Music, gave it to him.
Baci’s lawyers accused Seyi Vibez of making libellous posts viewed approximately 4.3 million times before they were deleted. The posts have exposed Baci to “unwanted, persistent and escalating harassment across various social media platforms,” her lawyers said. The law firm demanded a takedown and public apology within three days, or it would pursue legal action.
Seyi Vibez has since deleted the posts, but Baci’s lawyers maintain that the publications have caused considerable distress and reputational harm.
The winners: Hilda Baci, if she secures an apology; and the legal system, if it upholds defamation laws. The losers: Seyi Vibez, who faces potential legal action; and the public, who are caught in the crossfire of a celebrity feud.
Bottom Line: Hilda Baci is threatening to sue Seyi Vibez over defamatory claims. The posts have been deleted. The question is whether the legal action will proceed or the matter will be settled.
